Establishment of Sacred Gardens (Vanas)
In ancient India, nature was revered as a sacred partner in life, not merely a resource to exploit. Our ancestors viewed forests and trees as divine entities, as reflected in the Vedas and Upanishads, which highlighted humanity’s deep dependence on them. Sacred groves like Pavithra Vana, Nagabana, and Devarakadu were nurtured as living temples, embodying this profound spiritual connection.
However, over time, rapid population growth, unchecked agriculture, and greed for profit led to the destruction of these sacred spaces. Once protected, these groves have now been ravaged, with their spiritual and cultural significance lost. The erosion of our ancient reverence for nature has led to a worldview where humanity dominates, rather than coexists, with the Earth.
To heal this disconnect, Vanyasiri CWCR is committed to reviving and establishing sacred gardens (Vanas) that reconnect humanity with nature’s wisdom. These gardens are not just spaces of greenery but are imbued with deep spiritual, astrological, and therapeutic significance. Each plant and tree serves a specific purpose in promoting mental well-being, relaxation, and healing, helping individuals manage stress, anxiety, and work pressure.

- Ashoka Vana: Dedicated to the Ashoka tree, symbolizing peace, healing, and resilience.
- Astadikpalakara Vana: A grove honoring the eight guardian deities of the cardinal directions, ensuring cosmic balance and harmony.
- Nakshatra Vana: A garden aligned with the 27 lunar constellations, offering spiritual guidance and astrological harmony.
- Rāśi Vana: A sacred space dedicated to the 12 zodiac signs, balancing cosmic energies for personal growth and well-being.

His work identifies over 50 distinct species of trees, plants, and creepers across various Vanas, including Shivapanchayata Vana, Nakshatravana, Navagrhavana, and more.
